Cooking is a core part of the gameplay of Spiritfarer where Stella can create dishes at a kitchen on her boat.
See List of Recipes.
How to Cook[]
After Stella has caught her first fish, the hungry passenger Atul asks her to prepare a fish in the kitchen.
- "Interact" with the Fish from the inventory to move it into the oven
- You can add/remove quantities of an ingredient by using the "Interact" and "Cancel" buttons respectively.
- Press "Confirm" to start cooking.
Stella can learn how to prepare a variety of dishes for her passengers. Players should watch the kitchen timer and remove the food when the time is over. Food that stays in the oven for too long results in Burnt Food.
Stella can choose what to cook from multiple recipes or just put ingredients into the oven to obtain new recipes.
At first, there can only be one ingredient in a dish, but after the Kitchen upgrade using two ingredients will be possible.
Dish Types[]
There are 15 dish types: Stimulant, Healthy, Old-Fashioned, Comfort, Breakfast, Plain, Fine Dining, Acquired Taste, Dessert, Soup, Pub, Salad, Exotic, Incredible, and Disgusting.
Different Spirits love or hate different dish types, so knowing which is which is important to maintaining a positive attitude for the spirits and will affect what actions they will perform on the boat (for example: When Alice is in a good mood she will help remove Burnt Food from the oven.)
Some Items count as some dish types, but do not have the dish type listed (ex: Wonton Soup counts as a soup, but is not listed as one in the recipe book)
Additionally, there are un-listed categories that most Spirits will refuse to eat. The exceptions are Daria (who will only eat fruit) and Jackie (who likess Meat and Fried dishes)

The second column is the order of dishes in Susan's Museum (the numbers are shifted as Surstromming isn't made in the kitchen but rather in the cellar).
